The history on back reads, "Built in 1898, this 20 room Queen Anne Victorian, with its 60 ft. turret, was designed by first owner, Colonel Adelbert Mossman. Adelbert Mossman, born in 1848, moved to Hudson in 1876 when he purchased a local business. In 1887, he organized Hudson's first military company, a unit of the Fifth Massachusetts Volunteers, and was given the rank of Captain. Nine years later he was promoted to Major, and when he retired the rank of Colonel was conferred upon him. today, the Colonel Adelbert Mossman House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for architectural excellence."
