This was an experiment in fully dimensional design that has exacting exterior details from the exterior of the original builidings. What makes these boxes unique is the ability to lift off the roof and see some of the unique interior architectural details that are actually located insde the real building. Shelia's says the "Treasured Places are ideal for storing prized mementos like locks of hair, baby's first tooth or antique jewelry." They are constructed of resin and were produced for Shelia's overseas. So these were the exception to her traditional wooden houses made by hand in the USA. For some reason this series wasn't as popular with collectors as they had hoped so only the original four were produced. Many of Shelia's retailers didn't stock them so they are hard to find. That may make it more valuable later. Shelia's has evolved into Custom Wood Gifts following Bankruptcy reorganization. Each piece comes in its original package as picked up from the warehouse, NEW and never displayed. We also do special orders on any Shelia's products.
