Youth Admission Ticket (Adult SOLD OUT)

This BASIC GATE ADMISSION TICKET gives visitors access to the Gardens & Grounds of the plantation. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the U. S. Department of the Interior, stately Magnolia Plantation has, for over three centuries, been the original ancestral home of the Drayton family, whose many sons have played important roles throughout American history. It is believed that no other plantation in South Carolina is still under original family ownership from that early date, thirteen generations of the present-owning family having enjoyed it. It is the centerpiece of Ashley River history, and played important roles in the early days of settlement, the Revolutionary War, and the Civil War. The plantation is directed by its owner at no compensation. It pays full taxes, accepts no contributions, and distributes its excess revenue to several animal welfare facilities. Your pets on leashes are welcome.

Special Details: This basic gate admission covers all general points of interest EXCEPT the House tour, the Nature Train, the Nature Boat, and the Audubon Swamp Garden. Tickets for those need to be purchased at the gate house for scheduling purposes.

Allow a minimum of 45 minutes for the self-guided walk through the oldest major Garden in America, continually planted since the 1680s, and affording year-round color. Also, allow additional time to visit the Swamp Garden, Barbados Tropical Greenhouse, the Petting Zoo, the Antebellum Cabin, the Orientation Theater, the Horticultural Maze, and the Wildlife Observation Tower.
